Staying healthy at home during these uncertain times can be a challenge. With gyms being closed and outdoor activities being limited, we can oftentimes start to sink into our work from home routines.
It's difficult to find balance in our day-to-day lives but following a few simple steps now can help us in the long run.
Continue reading below to learn about how you can stay healthy while staying at home.
Build A Routine
Do Quick Workouts
Working out at home doesn't need to be difficult or expensive. Did you know, there are ways to conveniently and efficiently workout from home. All you need is 30 minutes, a few weights, a little area in your home and some good music! A few adjustable dumbbells can go a long way at home. They're easy to use, store, and cost-effective. You can even work out while at your standing desk! Simply use a walking pad and get those steps in while you attend your Zoom meetings.
Eat Good Food
It's easy to fall into the habit of eating whatever is quick and easy while we work from home. Some days we don't have time to cook, and other days the junk food drawer is only a few steps away from us. Working from home is all about finding balance. Enjoy your chips and chocolate but also make room for the fruit smoothies and avocados. We focus more when we start to realize that nutritious food is the fuel we need to keep going.
Sleep Well
We can often overwork ourselves, causing our bodies to go into overdrive. We forget the importance of sleep and recharging our bodies. We are working each day, whether we're at our desk, or taking care of the kids, cleaning, making food and many other day-to-day tasks. We are constantly using our energy, it's only right we take care of ourselves and have a good night's sleep. Helpful ways to get ready for bed is to try to get into bed early, put your phone away, read a book or create another selfcare routine that works best for you!
